Hello Lover!
I’ll admit it, SATC is one of the many reasons that made NYC that much more appealing. I fantasize living in NYC in Carrie’s Apartment. Her apartment and her fabulous closet that clearly doubled as her investment portfolio…
-Carrie Bradshaw
My first trip to NYC with my girlfriends happened back in June 2007. We were hard-core tourists the entire week so how could we not indulge ourselves in the SATC tour? Highlights of the SATC tour were taking pics on Carrie’s stoop, visiting the park where Miranda fell on her face before meeting Brady’s new GF, raiding the newly opened Marc by Marc Jacobs store in Soho, and finally having only exactly 1 minute to run into Magnolia’s and get some cupcakes. It was seriously my lucky day, there was no line, I ran in, grabbed a box, stuffed it with cupcakes and flung a twenty at the cashier while I simultaneously flung myself out the door, in front of our moving tour bus and jumped on. Phew! Why is it I have super human strength and agility when food and fashion are on the line?
p.s. there is more on the tour…take a looksie ☺

Our Type, Premium fonts from the Netherlands
Our Type, Premium fonts from the Netherlands. Available on Fontshop.com
OurType holds a special place in FontShop’s heart because it was co-founded by the clever captain of our Benelux operation, Rudy Geeraerts. The foundry was born in 2002 when Rudy teamed up with Fred Smeijers who is internationally known for his writing and lectures, but above all, for his type designs. Smeijers’ work is sought after by designers seeking to dip into the deep well of contemporary Dutch typography.
Six years later, OurType is now one of the world’s preeminent font collections with over a dozen extensive families from both established designers and promising young guns. This latest batch includes several new releases along with existing typefaces updated to OurType’s OTF Pro format which supports the Latin Extended character set and OpenType extras like case-sensitive forms and additional figure styles.

Roxy Cottontail
Perhaps Jessica and myself have been talking lots of Hellz Bellz, but I came across this artist from the Hellz Bellz site-Roxy Cottontail. Here is how she decribes herself :
Roxy Cottontail is the woman that every girl rocking Nikes and huge earrings longs to be. Roxy, who also goes by Oxy (get it?), is a streetwear fashionista, full-time hustler, and arguably one of New York's best-known promoters/DJs

Sex Sex Sex and the City Movie!
Click your heels 3 times and you'll be in New York at the Sex and the City premiere!!
If only that was true, sorry chicas! At the very least the much anticipated movie release of Sex and the City will be this Friday at theaters all across America. Oooohh La La, what will be in store for us is exciting! Now I have stayed away from all the hoopla--the spoilers, the clips, the interviews, etc. I didnt want to taint my experience and I dont want to do that to you either. So for the next few days iDR will be posting Sex and the City stuff, but no spoilers here. We will be recapping and covering content about our favorite Sex and the City moments, city specific stuff, characters, fashion, etc. We've been waiting for this day to happen for so long. I hope Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda (and BIG too!) dont disappoint us! Atleast we get to see our four favorite girls in our favorite fashion forward city, New York! Sigh, its like falling in love all over again.... Can't wait to see it in theaters this May 30th! eeeeeeeeeek!

Old Navy
Ad campaigns, store displays, ambience all play a huge role in influencing the way I shop. Besides having the right product, you need the right lighting, music, imagery, spokespeople, models, etc....
OMFG!!!

Where does one even where jumpsuits? In the slammer? Jumping out of an airplane? Well either way those scenarios and these fits require balls, a little bit of crazy, and a whole lot of confidence! For fall keep expecting to see vests, and sexy menswear touches.
All fits from WWD.com
1. Left: Matsu's wool and silk jumpsuit and Sari Gueron's cotton tulle blouse. Right: Joline Jolink's cotton and polyester jumpsuit and Richard Ruiz's silk chiffon blouse. 2. H&M gets even "CHEAP"-er
Fallin'
I still prefer Old Navy which is perfect for stocking up on basics and trendy essentials and if you wait a week, or even a day, I promise everything goes half-price or more. I promise...no I swear!!! Don't ever, ever pay full-price at Old Navy...anyways another reason I love Old Navy over The Gap, besides their prices are their catchy commercials. I love their commercials! Hey I'm not ashamed to say they've reeled me in on their catchy tunes and their stories! Their latest commercial episode is Neon Nights....come-on don't tell me you don't sing-a-long! I need to go find a video to post-up b/c visuals are always better! :-)
Cai Guo-Qiang: I Want to Believe / Guggenheim Museum, New York
If you cant make it out to the Guggenheim Museum in NY enjoy this clip.
Cai Guo-Qiang: I Want to Believe, a comprehensive retrospective of the Chinese-born artist Cai Guo-Qiang (until May 28, 2008). The show presents early works, gunpowder darwings, explosion events, installations, and social projects. Cai Guo-Qiang: I Want to Believe features more than 80 works from the 1980s to the present. The exhibition has been designed as a site-specific presentation within Frank Lloyd Wright’s rotunda building and also in galleries of the Annex. According to the artist, the presentation fills the museum with the energy of an explosion. Eight of Cai Guo-Qiang’s most important installations are on display, the most dominating one being “Inopportune: Stage One (2004)”, comprised of nine cars pierced with blinking light tubes that simulate the trajectory of a car-bomb explosion tumbling upwards through the atrium’s void. On the Guggenheim Museum’s website there is an interesting video and a photo series of the installation process of the exhibition. Guggenheim Museum New York, March 27, 2008.
