The Ten Commandments, one of Keith Haring’s most powerful series of paintings, will be presented at Deitch Studios, Long Island City, from November 8, 2008 – February 15, 2009. The works portray the Ten Commandments from Haring’s point of view, combining a traditional Biblical interpretation with the artist’s liberating spirit and apocalyptic vision.

Evan Gruzis is presenting his first New York solo exhibition of ink paintings at Deitch Projects 76 Grand Street gallery this December. Entitled Dark Systems, the exhibition explores the constructedness of the ‘real’ through a dramatic interpretation of actual and represented light. There will be a reception for the artist on December 12th from 6 - 9 PM.

I urge you to make your way to the City to be inspired and to celebrate this man's life, work, and legacy. San Francisco is the only US location to house this exhibit& I'm not sure when I'll be back in the Bay so please, do share with those of us not in the area.

Here I'll plan the day for you: Start off with the museum exhibit, then go to Golden Gate Park and have a picnic, take a walk, or have some tea while you reflect on the genius you just witnessed. Then go to dinner in North Beach and momentarily pretend you have left the country.

In the 1960s Yves Saint Laurent made an indelible mark on fashion with clothing emblematic of the new modernity. Yves Saint Laurent, organized by FAMSF and The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with the Fondation Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent, explores the designs that made Saint Laurent famous, and his inspirations drawn from art, theatre, history, literature, and nature. This exhibition contains nearly 130 accessorized garments and sketches illustrating the lines, colors, and fundamentals of Saint Laurent’s work. This is the only U.S. venue. A catalogue accompanies this exhibition.

Cant forget the fellas, they need love too! One of my boys from NY (JD of Gilas) made it on Esquire online poll for "best dressed". Are we in high school? No no..its real. On Esquire you can vote for the Best Dressed Real Man 2008. You can best describe his style as "Grown-Up, without taking myself seriously. Gotta love color".  Here are some NY stores to hit up, Franks Chop Shop and Brooklyn Industries. The Chop Shop double as an art gallery exhibition featuring this guy, Steve Ellis  and Shut Skateboards.

Design and Science with Paola Antonelli

Paola Antonelli's exhibit for the MoMA, "Design and the Elastic Mind", is deep, complex, thoughtful and enlightening. This insightful interview with Chuck Hoberman and Peter Hall covers a lot of ground such as design, science, sculpture, engineering, architecture, and computer programming.

Paola Antonelli began her curatorial career at MoMA in 1995 with Mutant Materials in Contemporary Design. Her exhibitions are consistently popular, challenging and expansive. In this interview she reflects on opening night and our emotional attachments to objects.
