Its lunch time, and something must be wrong when I have to put my fork down.
So I've been covering LA Fashion week off and on this week. I was quickly reminded that there are still many designers that I'm not aware of, which is half the fun of following fashion on the daily. But something is truly amiss when I'm quick to recognize only 2 of the headlining designers from the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week taking place this week, 3/7-3/14, in Los Angeles. The 2 designers I do know showing their fall collections this week, happen to be Lauren Conrad (aka LC from [insert MTV Guilty pleasure of choice] and Robin Antin's Pussycat Dolls who are appropriately coming out with a lingerie line.
Okay, we are all well aware that celebrities have been slapping their names or collaborating on everything from clothes, to fragrances, to shoes, to everything....LC, a reality TV star, is no exception. She has been allowed to not only start or own over-priced label, so far 2 collections , but was allowed to show her latest fall collection on the runway at LA Fashion week? What's sad is that she is, in reality, focused on making it in the fashion industry. Talk about the ultimate MTV- Made story?!
