DimePiece Designs (swag not included)

Parachute Hoodie $86

This female empowering street wear line is definitely making their presence known with an exciting new Holiday 08' Collection featuring more cut & sew pieces like this really hot hoodie that I might need to get in both colors.

If you know me, I'm not a casual type of girl so I really like the structure and drape of this piece.

Check out their brand spanking new website to shop the latest collection, get inspiration, to figure out what DimePiece actually means if you didn't know already, and to see why this line is not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Space 15 Twenty: Shop.Art.Music.

Are you tired of malls, outlet malls, mini malls, outdoor malls....just need a new way to shop that will inspire you rather than drain your soul or your wallet? Yes? Then check out this new concept from Urban Outfitters...

"A new retail experiment in Hollywood, CA, Space 15 Twenty creates an opportunity for Urban Outfitters to collaborate with creative brands we find inspiring and interesting.

A courtyard leads from each store to an outdoor performance space and adjoining gallery. Both of which encourage designers and artists to become part of a curated environment. Working with neighboring music, film and art establishments, both courtyard and adjoining gallery will present a rotating cast of local musicians and artists.

The Urban Outfitters store will feature one-off installations by a new designer every few months. Alongside the 11,000 square foot Urban Outfitters store, Space 15 Twenty will host a selection of vendors. The revolving brands utilizing these spaces will reflect and compliment Urban Outfitters and present our customers with an overarching view of people and brands which are excited to be aligned with."

Peep the site to see current events and what designers/artists they are linked with at the moment. I'm definitely checking this out when I'm back in LA in December.

Rodarte Spring 2009 RTW

Laura and Kate Mulleavy with Mandy Moore at the 2008 CFDA where they took the Swarovski Award for Womenswear for Rodarte.

You never know where genius is going to come from....such as from these normal average American Mulleavy Sisters who were born and raised in Berkeley, Ca and design out of Pasadena, Ca, and have created all of these yummy creations in heavenly colors...sorry stuff this good makes me go into laLalalaLALAlaaa Land!?!

Your grandma never knit like this.

High-Fashion Schoolgirl.

Orange Dreamsicle.

Mocha Cappuccino.

This would look good on Rihanna.

Deconstructed/Frayed Chanel-esque Suit?

Another Rihanna Look.

It's like the Mulleavy Sisters squeezed different paint colors onto a blank canvas and swirled it together :-)

Radar Magazine out of print

Sad to hear that Radar magazine has gone under. The magazine published articles on entertainment, fashion, politics, and human interest. The magazine announced on October 24, 2008 that it would be closing both its print and online divisions. However, Mrs. Obama (above) was the cover shoot for the September issue and it didnt make stands. How unfortunate because it would have been an interesting read and spread. We hope Radar makes a comeback!

$49.99 (Also comes in Black)

Visit Racked.com for the full preview and price points. Hayden-Harnett will be available December 28th!

So return the gifts you didn't want for cash or ask for Target gift cards!
& see, don't feel bad if you didn't make it out to CdG or didn't get what you were looking for....there's always another collaboration available to distract us every 5 seconds.

Speaking of Target lines....I fully recommend the Sigerson-Morrison Line. This is Target's best Shoe Collabo yet. I the line is vintage/retro, especially in the heel design, and the shoes are really, really comfortable. I think S&M flies out of Target stores sometime early December so get em' while you can!

Also available in Black with Gold Thingiemajiggies

Where I first saw the S&M line back in September

I then discovered this pair at a different Target...Super comfy and very vintage don't you think?

And these lil' booties are cute, comfy, and they withstand all the walking I do up and down Manhattan.

Just your typical Wednesday Morning...

in NYC...wherein the hustle & bustle surrounding Herald Square appeared just the same, despite the big event going on inside select H&M stores in NYC, LA, SF, and Chicago.

So I made plans to arrive at the Herald Square at 9 AM, just in time to see a long line of anxious and excited shoppers. However, when I got there and to my surprise there was no line. That's when I realized that they let customers in an hour early. So I braced myself for the madness, but again, to my surprise there was none! I was pretty disappointed to not see any crazy people fighting over a polka dot tee :-(, but instead calm, focused shoppers. But I was amused at how H&M tried to weave in their own polka-dot pieces and other similarly deconstructed clothes and watch shoppers make a dash for it, then throw it to the side once they realized there was no CdG label. Those sneaky h&mers

NYMag.com also confirmed my assumptions in that past H&M collaborations were a lot crazier such as the Roberto Cavalli, which sold out in 15 minutes, and according to The Cut "practically the whole state of New Jersey showed up". My theory is that CdG is not as mainstream as compared to Stella McCartney or Roberto Cavalli, although it is now after this collaboration.

So how was it over on the West Coast? Please do share.

Courtesy of The Cut and taken at 5th Ave & this is how it did NOT look over in Herald Square.

Herald Square Window Display

The only time it got crazy was when a sales associate was coming to replenish the floor with pieces left at the register

See? calm and collected.

Stussy x In4mation: Sophomores

Stussy and In4mation come together again with another project that gives tribute towards something that is really special to both parties. Stussy and In4mation will be releasing a Skate Deck and Tshirt to commemorate their upbringing in Hawaii. The Stussy Honolulu Chapter is managed by Mililani, Hawaii native Ian Okui who has grown up with the In4mation boys and they wanted to give this Sophomore release that feel of having fun and not caring about whats hot and whats not. When discussing everything with Rhandy (In4mation) he felt that we utilize a hand drawn graphic with that classic 80’s feel of an undisclosed store that everyone grew up going to getting that special Sk8 Combo. (Everyone who grew up in Hawaii that Skated should know this)

The Sophomore release will be released only at the Stussy Honolulu Chapter Store, Stussy Direct Online Store and In4mation/Aloha Army stores in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I am pretty sure now that I'm not going to buy anything b/c everything I thought would be affordable such as the scarf, handbag, and wallet are at $59.50. If I'm going to spend money on a designer piece even if it is a diffusion line, I'd rather it be an accessory where I won't be limited in wearing it...instead my wallet is limiting the line's wearability. It's okay I still got the h&m X Stella McCartney's Oversized Cardigan :-)

But I may still go to witness the madness!

Sofia Coppola’s Miss Dior Cherie Commercial

Dior print ads and commercial are here! Miss Dior Cherie muse model is Maryna Linchuk. Famed Sofia Coppola directed the ad for this campaign.

As Dior is known as a French label the ads and tv commercial embody just that. The commercial has that soft french sensual emotion. The ads speak the same--it is light, pastels, dream like, airy, and happy. The song in the commercial "Moi, Je Joue" is by Brigitte Bardot.

CdG for the hundreth time

Okay, I promise this will be the last time I mention Comme des Garcons and H&M....maybe...

When I first posted this once in a lifetime collaboration, I had a little more money in the bank and was so gungho about going to the first day CdG goes public....but as of now I am more living up to the graduate starving student image. Also, Tokyo got the first dibs at the CDG line and some people waited in line for as long as 40 hours?!?

IDK the CdG!?! It's getting too cold for this Native Los Angeleno, I was only planning to wait in line maybe 2 hours?, oh & I have no money.

FYI: You can only buy 2 of each item instead of hoarding it all to yourself and selling it on eBay for the same price as the original collection.

A look at the brave/crazy CdG lovers
