Southern California will soon be called, if not already, the land of outdoor shopping experiences, no not malls...shopping experiences. LA's newest playground is Americana at Brand, which is brought to us by Caruso Affiliated. Caruso is also the person who brought us The Grove, a very LA, trendy and quite touristy haute spot (remember Spiedi came here to do their wedding registry at Crate and Barrel, I'm sorry I know that). According to an LA Times article, The Grove, "attracts 18 million people each year (about 3 million more than the Disneyland park in Anaheim)"!!??
Today is the grand opening of Americana at Brand, with over 75 shops including Kira Plastinina!! (A 15 yr old Russian designer recently featured in Teen Vogue), numerous dining options, Pacific 18 Theatres, and luxury condos and apartment homes (Courtney's...ahem...possible new digs?). Its the ultimate date spot, or possible destination to be at on May 30th, for your Sex and The City Movie night??
Figures that today I'm in the Bay Area...but don't worry. I'll be there next week with my mom. We are going to check it out after we do the Revlon Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk, so I'll be sure to provide plenty of pictures then.
