Our lovely friend and guest editor Monina, has recently returned from her first trip to SXSW in Austin - one of the largest music conferences/festivals and she's shared her experience with us:
Hey guys, I'm now fully recovered from SXSW (South By Southwest) =) Since working on marketing and events at SPIN, I've had the amazing opportunity to experience some of the greatest live music events around...Coachella, V-fest and Vegoose to name a few.
This year, SPIN hosted it's annual Spin @ Stubb's (line up included X, Vampire Weekend, Raveonettes, etc.) party along with a massive artist lounge (SPIN and MySpace San Jacinto Saloon) in the heart of 6th street. In comparison of other festivals SXSW has literally thousands of artists you could go see. For those who weren't able to experience the lounge, it was a place for artists, bands and our guests to relax, pick up some swag and be interviewed for SPIN/MySpace
My highlights:
1. Flying in from New York and landing in Austin in 85 degree weather
2. Tex Mex - so it's not exactly mexican food from Cali, but hey - it did the job
3. Meeting N.E.R.D. Can I just say that Pharrell can charm the paint off of a wall?
